Service Project Missions application:

Thanks for your interest in working with the EXTENSION Center in setting up a Missions Outreach Service Project for your group.

About Us:
As we prepare to work together, please note that the EXTENSION Center’s Specialty is working with groups in Setting up Service Projects that promote Volunteerism in the Inner-city” . Such planning includes working with groups in setting up mission trips and other meaningful outreach opportunities that promote volunteerism and opportunities to give back while participating in an itinerary that could include a one day, or a week-end sleep over that could include working on a week-end service project or just playing or mentoring kids at a shelter or a community center.

Because the EXTENSION Center’s specialty is being able to work with groups in setting up itineraries that fit the mission of the church or the organization participants such as students, adults, and senior citizens are all welcome to participate in service projects that are designed to fit the needs of each group.

Some of our Partners that have worked with us:
Some of the groups that have worked with the EXTENSION Center include: McLean Bible Church, Church of the Redeemer, the National Cathedral School, St Albans, Georgetown Prep, Booze Allen and Hamilton Staff, college students from American University, University of Maryland, George Washington University, George Mason, and other colleges. Such group has met with Dr. Perkins in setting up itineraries that include working on houses, mentoring, painting, visiting youth in prison, teaching Sunday School, helping out seniors, and other rewarding opportunities are just a few of the opportunities that allow groups visiting the EXTENSION Center to impact DC.

Where we are located:
As a community based organization, located in a beautiful community that is currently experiencing a great deal of transition; there is a great deal of diversity in the community, both with regard to race and with regard to economic status; you will notice a difference in economic background based on which side (East/West) of 1st Street one is on; the goal of the EXTENSION Center is to work with various organizations, churches, schools volunteers, small groups putting together meaningful service projects that promote opportunities to serve people in the Nations Capital.
